"i know. but my grandma hasnt seen her in a while and riley wanted to see her too" nailea says, her voice muffled "are nick and chris here?"
"no, i told them to stay in their rooms when you came over" matt chuckles as they pull away from the hug
"what? why?" nailea asks
"because, nini, we barely spend any time alone, my brothers are always there" matt tells the girl

"i told you the real reason. i had to get you and i out from jonathan and hannahs house, i had to get a job, a house, and i needed and still need to take care of you" nailea explains, folding a pajama shirt and putting it in her drawer
"but thats a load of bullsh*t" riley scoffs "why did you break up with him? i mean i saw you two together, nailea! you two were the most in love people in the world!"
"riley i couldnt make time for him!" nailea exclaims

"so in between having to work three jobs, having to take you to school, having to run errands, having to go to school myself when i was seventeen, in between all of that you think i could've made time for matt?"
"yes i do" riley crosses her arms
"riley. matt and i are ancient history, okay?. i know you loved him and i together, but it just wasnt going to work, okay?. i wish the best for him and i know that someday hes going to find a girl who was time for him. but in the meantime? i dont want to discuss this, especially with you" nailea explains
"but why especially with me?" riley asks
"because you arent me, okay?. you dont know what it feels like to break the heart of the person you love the most. you dont know how it feels unless youve had a secret boyfriend" nailea exclaims, flipping out on her sister as she was getting annoyed with the subject
"if you loved him then why did you break up with him!"
"riley i just told you why. go to your room because i have a massive headache and i still have so many f*cking chores to do"
